Registration With The Environment Agency

Aqua Shield are now registered with the Enviroment Agency and are able to carry licensed waste materials.

From 1990 Is has been an offence to carry waste without the necessary authorityand licenses for transporting waste? (LEA Waste Transfer Note). Under section 34A of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 (amended by the Cleaner Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005) the Local Authority has the power to issue a fixed penalty notice to someone who commits an offence under the 1990 Act.

Anyone that transports waste for business purposes must have a waste carrier’s licence which allows them to transport waste. The licence will specify what type of waste they are licensed to carry. This acts as a receipt for the person that transferred their waste to them and must be kept for 2 years. The waste is usually described as controlled waste on the licence.

What Is Controlled Waste? Controlled waste is any waste except waste from agricultural premises, waste from mines and quarries, explosives and radioactive waste.
